Celeste Art Prize 2007 - Public on-line vote

| 1st April - 20th May 2007

All candidates will be automatically entered into the public on-line vote. All works submitted will be available to view on-line from 1st April until the 20th May.

During this time the public will be able to vote by e-mail on a one e-mail one vote basis for the artist of their choice.

There will be a league table showing the development of the voting. The artist who has received the highest number of votes by 12 noon on the 20th May will be awarded the Public On-line Prize at the Celeste Art Prize 2007 Award Ceremony to be held on the 27th May in London.

The Celeste Art Prize is delighted to welcome The Times Online as our media partner throughout the six week lead up to the exhibition when the Public Online Vote there will be articles, further information and the opportunity to debate the role of painting & prizes online.

| The Rules:

There are two steps to the voting process:

1) The vote - Anyone can vote via email on a one email one vote basis (i.e from one IP address)

2) Validation of the vote - Once you have voted your vote will have to be validated, without validation, it will not be counted. Almost immediately after you have sent your vote to the Celeste Art Prize, an email containing a randomly generated code will be sent to your email address. Please follow the instructions in this email & insert the code into the return email to the Celeste Art Prize. Once the email containing your code has been received your vote will be considered valid.

| Notes:

1. You can vote for one artist in the Artist or Student categories.

2. Participating artists will be listed in alphabetical order.

3. The artist receiving the greatest number of online votes by 12 noon on Sunday 20th May will be considered the winner of the Public Online Vote Prize.

4. In the event of a tie the Organiser will cast the deciding vote.

5. The £2,000 Public Online Vote Prize will be awarded to the winner at the prize ceremony on Sunday, 27th May 2007.

6. Votes from the Public Online Vote will not count towards the £10,000 Artist and the £5,000 Student prizes. These prizes are awarded as the result of the 60 Finalists’ votes.

7. The status of the votes cast will be updated every 48 hours on:

8. Before voting, we ask the voter to indicate their profession; this will help us build an effective database for future mailings. If you do not wish to be included in any future mailings about the Celeste Art Prize or associated events please tick the box.

9. Personal data will not be disclosed to third parties and will be held in full compliance with the data protection principles set out in Part 1 of Schedule 1 of the Data Protection Act 1998.
